Hey, be careful using a pineapple. In a large housing development in our area putting a pineapple on your porch is a symbol that you're a couple who is open to "swinging". Ask someone you know if that's true where you live... you wouldn't want any surprises!

water, the welcoming atmosphere, the walkable town center etc..., so I just connected with that symbol.
Crystal, I love your combination of colors! The pineapple gives the entry just that touch it needed for additional interest. I have never heard anything about pineapples and "swinging" either. Come a knocking when the pineapple's a rocking! The pineapple is a southern sign of welcome (how I know that as a Jersey girl is a whole nother story)! Love the color combo!
That sounds like an interesting story ElecVintage! I was a little worried about how the gold/brassy pineapple would look but I think you guys are right - it doesn't look too bad! haha.
I would warn that outside entry doors are supposed to be fire rated doors and you should be careful doing something like this because screwing something into it may de-rate it. Just as a safety warning. Look into it before doing it.
Hi Crystal - very sharp color combination!! I never heard nuthin 'bout a pineapple symbolizing ANYTHING but hospitality - of course, I suppose that could be open to interpretation!! But, I really think you're safe up there in CT. It looks gorgeous!!
