HELP...what Did I Buy!

I recently purchased this item at a local thrift store, not sure what it was but hoped that acrylic paints fit into the side holes...they don't! I am still going to use it for craft storage as you can tell it is quite handy, it is mounted on a lazy susan. There are 6 of the dowels with the "stopper" on them that I have shown in one of the pics and 3 places on each side for them. Can anyone help me.......please:).
I forgot to measure it before I came to work and that is where I am uploading the info so not quite sure of the size but about 2 foot tall, 15 inches wide.

It may be a display case for a specific item...??? My first thought was spice rack, but it is too big for that and if the paint bottles won't fit, the spice jars wouldn't either. You have a mystery on your hands!

The front part looks like a cd rack I used to have, the wooden blocks slide against the CD cases like book ends. No idea on the side holes! Hope someone knows!

It's a CD or video rack. I remember when these were being sold several years ago. Smaller books might also fit, like children's storybooks.

They are not big enough for CD's, ribbon spools do fit in them though and that is what I am going to use it for at this point!

It is to store wrapping paper and ribbon. I've seen very expensive ones at places like Williams Sonoma. I believe rolls of wrapping paper are stored in the holes on the side and rolls of wired or curling ribbon on the dowels.

looks like a shoe rack with the 'holes' on the sides for rolled up pairs of socks, the rod - for a gentleman's ties Paint it pretty and set it outside as a bird house. they'll figure it out!
