My Summer 2012 Mantel
I wanted a clean and fresh look for my Summer Mantel. I love creating with things I have on hand and anything vintage or antique.

Vintage canning jars, time worn books and a gatherings of juniper make up this side of the mantel.
For the main part of the mantel, I hung my 'Ruffled Dropcloth Wreath' inside a nicely weathered frame.
I wanted to keep it simple and uncluttered.
An antique dovetailed box makes the perfect riser for these mason jars and I added a bit of juniper to bring in another texture.
Our mantel is quite long. It has the firebox on one side and a dumbwaiter on the other - to send up the wood.
