Any advice on what you use on cleaning engineered hardwood floors.

They are only two years old. They are in good shape. Just not sure how to clean them best? Just bought home and don't know what is best to use.?

The trick is to minimize the cleaner amounts...these can leave residues...I use just a damp towel for most of my floor cleaning.

Water and vinegar is a good all purpose cleaning solution that is safe and also disinfects better than more commercial cleaners.

You'll want to be careful with any store cleaners if you have pets. Having said that, We like using homemade vinegar/water solution as SawHorse mentioned above. I use 1/2 cup of white vinegar to one gallon of warm water as my base - but if you google "natural wood floor cleaning recipes" you can find all kinds of additions depending on the outcome you'd like. Vinegar won't leave a residue which is probably what's causing those foot prints. We also use the Method wood floor brand because ...»
we like the smell and I can say that it doesn't leave any residue either and the floors look shiny after.

We recently installed both factory finished hardwoods and engineered woods throughout our home and the showroom reccommended Bona for both. They carry the entire line at Bed Bath & Beyond stores.

The fastest and best cleaning method I have found for my 6 hardwood floors is a steam mop with just water. The only caution is to make sure to dry up any water left behind from the steam, and do it right away. I use an old towel under one foot right while I'm cleaning and dry as I go. Nothing leaves the floor cleaner and streak free with little effort. I have black floors in three room, so I know streaks when I see them! ;) I tried two brands of steam mops and recommend the better grade Bissel.

No, I have just lived here for a short while and don't know many people in the town yet. I built a new home and have been pretty busy just getting settled in.
