Meet "Tina" (lavender lily). As promised, I finally took pictures of it in bloom. Two white lilies decided to join in today too. I sure would like to have a beautiful red lily too.
The real red lily I have blooms all of the time but only opens in the early morning. It is a tropical lily, the others I have are hardy lilies. Oh by the way, I now have the bead filter installed & it is awesome. We turn a few things on/off & within 3 minutes the cleaning job is done.
Can I just sneak in for a minute here - Just wanted to say Becky that your Tina is a real beauty! You should be very proud of her!!!
Sherrie - congrats on the bead filter!! Dunno exactly what that is except that it must do something pretty important in the filtering of your tropical pond and save you a lot of time!!!
I feel like I've entered the pond club, stepping into this post :) No idea what a bead filter is either, but it sounds pretty good :) Becky, your lilies are special!
Susan, from what I've seen/read, the bead filters are biological filters that house plastic grooved beads about 1 - 1 1/4" diam. These grooves in the beads permit beneficial bacteria to grow, balancing out the water for the fish. Quite a few companies make them, and as typical of all products for sale, quality will vary.
Becky H, it is an Aquadyne Bead Filter. It is big. Beads are TINY, about 1/8".
I'm waiting for KMS to welcome Tina to Hometalk. He just welcomed a turtle on another posting. Susan S, it saves a tremendous amount of time. My fish eat a lot and cleaning was a full time job.
