Awesome Seasonal Decor From Discarded Books
by
Brooke Bock
(IC: blogger)
Discarded books get a great makeover...Look at these great seasonal accents made from old books.
Getting ready for my first fall show...A little lineup of the book shapes on my toolbox bench... They were quite flat from being stored for a year so I wanted to get them all plump and ready for the first show...coming up soon.
A cat....Needs a bow still but looking awesome anyway...
Pumpkin... I do these with orange and black edges....
A snowman...awaiting his felt hat and homespun scarf....
And an apple for the teacher...
The trade secret trick to get your pages to fan out nicely....Water sprayer bottle and a sunny day. I will be working on the how-to post soon....

Wendy Bass on Aug 31, 2014Great idea! I saw this done in a little coffee shop and they used the books as lamp shades with the accordion look. So fun!
