If the pump is running but not pumping it may have lost its prime...or you have a kink or obstruction in the line. A lot of the evaporative coolers here ( in colorado) use line pressure in the water line and a float valve. It may be possible to convert your but with out specifics this is just a guess.
  • The pumps that are used in some swamp coolers are not very powerful. So the slightest kink, or debris plug would stop it from running water. Also check the collection pit or pan on bottom. When changing out filters the hardness and debris often times falls into this and the result is debris plugging the return line. You may need to remove the hose from the pump and flush water down into that pipe to reverse the flow and push the junk out of the line. What ever it is, unless the pump stopped working altogether, should be a pretty simple although hot repair.
