next freeze/thaw it will be fractured again!!! Use a polyurethane,or Butyl caulk to stay flexible and remain sealed. It is made in many colors ,including a grey cement color. -
Just used the product to fill in the cinder-block where the main sewage drain left the house. Finally, the small leak into the basement is gone. Very easy to work with. -
Thanks Mark for your comment. Unfortunately that crack in the picture is too big for caulk otherwise I would have used it. I will let you know how the repair holds up :) -
can this product be used in the garage where the cinder blocks meet the floor? After a heavy rain storm the other day, it appears there is some water coming in. I tried using a concrete caulk in this area but when it rained it still came in. Not sure if this is because the caulk felt a little soft. I was thinking of buying premixed concrete to put on there to see if that would work when I came upon this post. -
Thanks Kathleen for your question. You can use hydraulic cement for this purpose. One thing to consider is to check your downspouts to ensure they're pointing away from the house, and they need to be at least 3 feet away from the garage foundation wall. Also, look to see if the ground around the garage is sloped downward. This will help eliminate water from penetrating the foundation. Hope this helps :) -
can you use this on cracks in a driveway? -
Karen, you should use a product specifically for driveways instead of hydraulic cement. I know that Quikrete makes a few different ones especially for small cracks. Hope this helps.
