How To Decorate Any Space On A Small Budget

The 2 Seasons

One of our most popular posts on Hometalk has been how to decorate a small space. Well, we realized these tips work for any size space and really work if you are on a small budget. They are practical, down-to-earth, yet cute and fun ideas to make your space better. We've updated our original post with new photos and some new ideas.
Use plates as art. They are easy to find in almost any color, any size, and any price range. Plus, they are easy to change when you get tired of them. We have a lot more ideas on our blog and hope you stop by for a visit: http://the2seasons.com/2014/09/01/decorating-small-spaces-revisted/
Bring nature in. I keep this little vase on this platform all of the time, and change what it is holding according to the season. In the summer I put fern fronds in it, pheasant feathers in the fall, twigs in the winter, and greenery from our shrubs in the spring. Each look is free.
Take advantage of sales. I stopped in a locally owned fabric store, and they were having a sale on upholstery remnants. I was six remnants that each measured 20 by 20 inches for 50 cents each. I will use them to make six pillows. I will buy a small drop cloth for a few dollars and cut six squares measuring 20 by 20 inches for the backs. I always reuse my pillow inserts that we have on-hand. That means each pillow will cost less than a dollar.
Use things in unusual ways. For instance this garden seat is the perfect end table.
