Ballard's "Confiserie" Sign Knockoff: The Look for Less!

I have been Jonesing for this sign for a while now. I'ts big. almost 8 ft, and I lovethe shape of it! I want it for my dining room. (Actually, I want the whole dining room from the Ballard's catalog, but one thing at a time.) But this sign is $289. wow. Really!?
So I decided to make my own sign, Bet I can get it done for WAY less than $289!

First I made my template and cut out my sign from 1x6 pine lumber.
After gluing and screwing it all together, I started on the finish. This sign has three colors of paint, and a stain. It's a process to get that great worn out look on something brand new!
I used custom-cut vinyl letters for the wording. Then dry brushed over them so they looked a bit worn. I love my sign! My total cost for this project was under $60. Woot! Although I should mention this sign is only 6 feet long, instead of 8. For the complete tutorial, go to the Flying C blog!
