Repurposed Nightstand

I bought this for $5.99 at the thrift store. It was in great shape physically, just ugly. I wanted to re-do it for my husband's den. This was done with home-made chalk paint and Annie Sloan Wax in clear and dark. You can see the whole post here on my blog. http://bellascraftymom.blogspot.com/2012/05/599-special.html
These are the doors with hardware removed before painting.
During painting. I used latex satin paint and about 1/4 cup of plaster of paris added to 1/2 of the quart of paint. You can add some water to thin a bit. It takes 2 coats, but covers everything. No priming needed.
After paint dries, i distress edges with sand paper and then use the clear wax all over and add a bit of the dark wax to some areas. Let dry and buff with rag.
Here it is in the den. Not bad for $5.99.
