Barn Door using a closet track

While completing my recently renovated basement I knew a barn door was going in there somewhere. Without using the expensive hardware I was able to create my own barn door..

Awesome job, people check out all the pictures! I plan on making a barn door to cover our stairway. Love the idea of using sliding door hardware. I can easily make a cornice to cover the hardware. What did you use to keep the door from swinging out?

The door is held in place at the bottom by a rubber wheel which was meant for sliding doors. It was turned on its' side to guide the door. White rubber was also placed along the wall behind the door (when open) to not scratch the woodwork. It was placed at the bottom close to the floor so it is not visible, especially since the door is mostly open.

Thank you for the information. I will remember to find something to protect the baseboard. I think our door will be closed most of the time since we rarely go upstairs.
