Landscaped Pool Area

The client wanted a rustic natural look. One way we did this is by not having any pool decking behind it and allowing the plant material to come right up to the pool's edge. We also designed pockets of areas for planting on all sides of the pool to stay consistent with the natural look but kept the curved lines long and clean for the pool patio and stairs.

Looks great - no need for a deck, just would have been better with a natural stone or flagstone walkway around the pool to keep dirt and plant debris out of the pool.

I love it! With young children I would'nt do it. But right now, being that my kids are older, I definately would do it!

I love how natural it looks. I hate a pool surrounded with cement!

the landscape slopse away from the pool on all natural areas. We have never had any issues with dirt or mulch in the pool. the landscape has been in for over a year.

I love it! So much nicer than the ordinary pool surrounded by concrete.

I am so happy it is not my pool; the decking prevents all the yard and garden trash from getting into the pool. Without decking, you will definitely spend a lot more time cleaning. I prefer decking.

Love it! Leave it just like it is..it looks so natural. Much better than all that cement that looks like suburbia USA. I love the natural look and as the plants grow it will look even better. Great job!

Oh I really like this look. It's almost like an overgrown pond :-) Wish I could afford this in my yard!

To landscape contract: I see you are in Georgia. That's great for you! I live in Florida, land of the wind. I have an pool and there aren't any trees within 40 feet. I have to clean the mess out everyday, or the pump gets clogged. You are lucky you aren't in windy Florida. It is beautiful though. Looks like a great place to relax!

I think it looks awesome, but would also question how much maintenance might be involved. Most of our pool plantings are mulched with gravel or planted in ground cover. But if the client wanted the look, they should be willing to invest in better filtration systems to keep it clean. Awesome job!

I imagine a ground cover planted up to the pool surround would be very lovely and would hold the soil and other planting materials very nicely.

I love this - had a pool like this in Florida - NEVER had an issue with debris getting into the pool, with the exception of the pine needles from the neighbor's yard when we had heavy rain and wind (too many times!). The skimmer took care of the floating needles and the pool sweep took care of the rest.

Love the pool and landscaping. We live on 36 acres and have left as many trees as possible. Huge amounts of leaves and we can't afford a pool boy! However we do have a small deck which we plan on staining to look more natural. Also a new liner with gray and sand pebbles so it looks more like a pond.
