I have collected old vintage dented dinged up rusted buckets and pails for quite some time now. They remind me of growing up and going to grandpa and grandma's farm and orchards. I learned real young what you did with those buckets too!
Well now I like to take those old tired buckets and pails and give them some happy life! The possibilities are endless as well as what you can use them for today. Come see what I did to a couple I "countryfied" for a friend who was having trouble selling these plain old tired looking buckets in her vintage shop. When I delivered them back to her shop, they sold right away! That made me smile!
Playing with these took me back to a happy place once a long time ago. The little country farm girl I use to be on my grandparents farm and OH....the memories that came back as I worked on them. Playing in the orchards picking apples and pears. Helping to harvest the one acre garden they had too. I snapped more green beans than I've probably eaten in my whole life! Picking cherries and mulberrys from the trees so grandma could make homemade pies! Oh and hunting for Moral mushrooms...getting buckets full and my mouth watering the whole time antisipating those beauties sauteed in butter just for a snack!
Just take an old bucket like these, (that are waiting for me to deck up for the holidays,) and get inspired and let that imagination of yours run wild! These two buckets I'm sharing today are actually coal buckets, but any bucket or pail works it don't matter. They all want to be happy and useful again!
And if you were a little country girl or farm girl, maybe you will be taken back to places in your mind that you forgot where there. I so miss those days!
You can upcycle these buckets and pails into any theme, or season, and make them useful again even if it's just for a decoration in your home or gardens. Great magazine holders too! But really so much more! So go get yourself some buckets! Let your imagination fly....get inspired! The holidays are coming...I'm sure you could think of something to create a pretty for!
