DIY Faux Pallet Map Made From FOAM!

Not too long ago I attended the SNAP! conference in Salt Lake City and met the remarkable people over at FloraCraft®. They had this amazingly large Faux Pallet Map that was made out of their StyroFoam. While I couldn't create one that big and fit it in my house, I was able to create a smaller version that now sits up on my mantle in my house. The other thing I like is that Pottery Barn sells a Pallet Map for over $300. I can't imagine the shipping costs or hanging a pallet, but this is so light and simple anyone can do it. Check out these simple steps below.
You first want to gather up all of your supplies.
I then measured and cut all of my sheets of foam to give them a pallet like look.
Once all of my foam was cut, I then added the smooth finish to give it a wooden look. (Well, not wooden just yet...)
After the Smooth FInish dried, I lightly sanded the pieces and then added the color.
It was then time for the stenciling of the map! I created a large version of the US Map in my Silhouette machine. I attached all of the separate boards with connectors to create the pallet look, and then and applied the map vinyl to my pieces.
When I had my stencil applied, I just added the paint, removed the vinyl, and enjoyed my project!
