This is a blackberry lily (belamcanda). When it goes to seed you will understand why it is called a blackberry lily. They reseed also - not invasive - just free plants.

OH WOW@ Ellen, that is just too cool! Ive never heard of them...and with the spots I was thinking an asiatic lily of some type... really beautiful! The colors remind me of the Josephs coat rose...kind of like a sunrise in a flower....

Pretty...lucky you! I've never seen those, but I'm going to be on the lookout for one here in Alabama. I love daylilies, you can't kill them and they LOVE out southern summers! The hotter it gets, the more they bloom.

Blackberry Lilly! In Fall it gets a small black berry that can be dried on the stem.

I have one and not for sure were it came from. But very pretty. Can birds drop the seeds?

Cool beans. Thanks. The 'blackberry' is the seeds. Every fall I save them. In the spring I plant them. My father in law will be happy. He gave me the mystery seeds.
