Re-purposed windows and doors.

My husband and I built this greenhouse using our collection of old windows and french doors. It has a cute chandelier inside and icicle lights that set it off at night.

Stacey it took a couple of weeks because we really didn't know what we were doing. Ha! Our old windows were not all the same size so we had to frame in fit them.

Looks really cute! We built one in Ca. and used old store front french doors, I loved them also a chandelier and fo-fireplace mantel with brick venier. I wish I could have hitched that house up to the moving truck.Lol:)

@ carol...just from eye balling this I would guess it is in the 8 x 12 neighborhood...which is a good size. working with standard plywood at 4 x 8 feet you can maximize resources. Decking, roofing etc.

Function and beauty! I am sending this on to my neighbor who will hopefully build it where I can see it each day.

This is really nice, but I would get a visit from code enforcement because it didn't conform to building codes with my luck. I don't think I could even get a building permit for it.

Linda, This looks really great. We have a plan for a similar project. Apart from the windows etc, we will have radiant floor heating, a fish tank (mare of a aquaponic system) and solar PV to run the pumps. This will give us fresh (unadulterated fish), fresh food and a whole lot less maintenance.

The second project will be to build a large one (industrial size) on a friend's 40 acre land to grow food and fresh fish to hand out to those in need.

We are trying to get things in place to be self-sufficient also....... just prepared for the unknown. Love the greenhouse! Have to go to Habitat for Humanity store and look for some old windows and doors.
