DIY Farmhouse Table for $65

I was wanting a farmhouse table for my back porch. For only $65 of lumber I was able to recreate a $2000 Restoration Hardware table. I opted for pine to save on cost, but this can also be made in cedar to last outdoors much longer. It would also make a great indoor dining table. You can see the full tutorial at http://www.shanty-2-chic.com/2012/06/fancy-x...

Great job! If kept out of the weather, pine should work well for this. I giggled when I remembered a few years ago I wanted a 30x36" simple table for a breakfast room. I found a place that made tables and they wanted $2,000 for a small table! I know reclaiming wood is prized by many and I appreciate those who do it and those who want it for restoration. Otherwise, it is just used lumber! And unless it was designed and made by Frank Lloyd Wright, I can not imagine paying that for a ...»

Love, love, love this table! Hey, I have a quick question for you ladies. Does one of you have a brand new home? I thought I read at one point that you did. Well, if so, I would really like to chat with you on the floor plan. My Hubby and I are getting ready to build our home and I like the way you've done the finish work inside yours. I was afraid to build a home vs. buying an older one and fixing it up....honestly, because I didn't think I'd have anything to blog about with a new home. ...»
BUT, after reading your blog, I feel better knowing there are ALWAYS going to be projects to do. I'd love to chat if you have a minute. Thanks! xoxo

This is one of my favorites! I absolutely love this! I drool every-time.

I don't know if you realize that you, Anna and a few others have given women the courage to try to make furniture theirselves. Knowing other women can do it and giving easy to follow directions helps. I appreciate that a lot.
