What's the best/inexpensive way to get image or etch mason jar?

My son's bday is coming up and I'd like to have 50 mason jars as glasses and for guests to take home as a favor. I want to do this for as little money as possible. I thought if I could etch them or even transfer an image that would work, but I'm having a hard time finding anything. If I transferred the image I'd want it to be obviously washable. Etching seems like it may be too hard unless I'm missing something. There are reusable stencils, but I can't imagine having to make 50 mason jars with 1 reusable stencil, that'd take forever. I'm trying to do it for as cheap as possible :) Any ideas?

Why not purchase the new colored jars? They are so popular right now and no work involved to make them pretty. If you can't find them you could always do glass paint on the regular clear jars and design them however you would like. I would assume places such as Michaels hobby shop would have all sorts of stickers and ways to do this on the cheep. @Evey's Creations what do you think?

Hi @White & Weathered Home! @Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com is right! Michaels and Hobby Lobby have appliques and vinyl stickers that you can purchase (some for less money than others) to apply yourself. Etching isn't really all that difficult either! There are also etsy shops that provide the vinyl already cut out into customizable designs for you to apply yourself. You can also use vinyl (if you own a cutting machine or know someone who does) as a stencil...so just cut out as many as you need, instead of using the same stencil over and over. Honestly, the reusable stencil might be the cheapest but the most labor intensive. My other suggestion, is to either make tags yourself or have someone design them for you, then you can have them printed at a UPS store or Staples then add some scrapbook paper around the jars, maybe with burlap behind it or whatever matches your decor then stick the tag onto it with some double sided tape. It will still look pretty and might be easier and more cost effective if you get the paper and tags at a decent price.
