Outdoor deck in Birmingham, AL

This was a plain deck at my old house in AL that wasn't very exciting until I decided to do a little makeover on it with outdoor wicker, new cushions, rug, a yardsale umbrella and it turned into a cozy retreat that was very fun to hang out in. I used lots of yardsale finds too. I don't live in this house anymore, but I'm getting ready to move in a new house this fall and all of this wicker will go on my new screened porch! This looks really relaxing. I'm curious about the deck surface. Is that tile? and did you do it?

Duh. Nevermind. You already answered my question in saying you added a rug. I wouldn't have thought of that, but it looks good. You have a very creative eye.

Thanks, Steve. Those outdoor rugs add so much to a space and create sort of a living room effect. I highly recommend them.

I've always loved your patio makeover, Rhoda! The darks against the lights are so stunning. I just can't wait to see what you do with your current screened porch!

What a beautiful space. I totally agree, adding an outdoor rug gives those outdoor spaces such a 'roomy' feel.
