I came across this mid century modern console on the side of the road driving home one day. My friend and sewing teacher was moving shops and couldn't bring the piece with her. She put the console out in front of her store hoping someone would come by and pick it up. Unfortunately it sat overnight in the pouring rain before I came and rescued it.
Kate had used the console in her store and it had an unfortunate accident with an iron. It had some nasty burn scars on the top. I decided it was worth fixing and got to work filling the holes and sanding and sanding some more.
I gave only the top a few coats of primer and bight white semi-gloss paint. Then the rest of the cabinet I saved with a restoring furniture product I found at Home Depot. It was exactly what this beautiful cabinet needed to get a second lease on life! I couldn't be happier with the outcome!
This is the finished console...it's beautiful now!
This is how the console looked when I picked it up.

The new and improved cabinet with a glossy, white and smooth top.
I love the doors on this console and how they roll into the sides when opened
This is a perfect place to store our liquor and glassware. It's now used as our bar in the dining room
The console holds so much!
