My husband and I purchased our first home in December. Since then I have been dreaming about building a garden along the fence of the farmers field behind our house. This is what I have so far!
Whoa!!! Girl you have been busy. Everything looks so nice and of course you already knew he names of the flowers I recognzed. The sedum,the dahlia and of course the pepper. You are doing a beautiful job-can't wait for more pics from this yard!!
So much for baby steps as a gardener! You dove right in and are getting great results. Thanks for the reminder that I need to plant some gayfeather. (I think your lavender is actually salvia.)
ha! @Doug... I think you're right! I was told it was sage at one point, and then I was told it was lavender. But it clearly looks just like salvia. THANKS!

There are perennial and annual salvias, Michelle. And to make things more complicated, some people refer to salvias as sage. You've got perennial salvia.
