Can someone share ideas with me on what I should do with my summer hanging plants? I have a basement, but don't know if its a good idea to hang them there since there is no sunlight. The plants are still vibrant and healthy. They are beginning to wilt a little due to the cool fall nights.

  • Depends upon what you have. Many hanging plants like petunias, impatiens, and vinca will not do well inside. Plants need sun so unless you put a light down there for about 8 hours a day, then you could possibly grow them. I love plants but sometimes certain ones are not worth saving. So what do you have? post pics if you do not know.

I'm in this same predicament with cats and not enough space, however I do have a front room that faces east that'll get a lot of morning sun. I plan to make a small flower stand from pallet wood for each flower so the cats cannot jump up and eat them. For the hanging ones I got the cover for the bottom of it so the water won't leak, those were maybe $1 at Menards and those clip right on to the hanging pot.
