A Cleaning Tip We Learned From Photographers

For photographers, the “Magic Hour” is the time right after sunrise or right before sunset when the sun is at the perfect angle for capturing clear shots.
Turns out, the “Magic Hour” is also the most efficient time to dust your house. During these two hours, dust is the most visible.
Why? Three reasons:
- Red light, which peaks during these hours, hits dust particles at an angle that makes them more visible to the naked eye.

-Long, soft shadows will highlight the dust on furniture. The rest of the day, your surfaces are bathed in contrasting light, which makes dust harder to see.

-The evening “Magic Hour” is a convenient time to wipe away dust, because your day is (hopefully) winding down. While dinner is in the oven, take ten minutes to wipe down every screen, curtain and piece of furniture that looks dusty.

If the “Magic Hour” reveals so much dust you have a mini panic attack, check out these tips to reduce dust in your home: http://bit.ly/1wfkraX
