While I agree with most of this article, many of my friends and myself happen to be crazy over lamps. I can't imagine the shade being what people notice most about a lamp.

Oh do you always buy them in pairs too? Even if I only need one lamp I buy two. Well unless I find one I gotta have while thrifting and there is only one.

That's what I'm talking about..LOL I'm a thrift store hunt addict...I love the thrill of the hunt and the challege of making it work...I just bought one for the college boy and rewired it...now it's an aewsome 3-way, touch off-on, desk lamp with a modern look that he loves...5 bucks for the lamp...7 for the new "touch-on-off" switch...and for 12 bucks we got a great new lamp... The other one was just beautiful crystal and I loved the look!
