Gallery Wall - Feature the People and Things You Love The Most

Easy
I freaking love gallery walls! I really like gallery walls that incorporate things other than photos. I think they can tell you so much about a person. Let me tell you my story through my new gallery wall.
A few months back I won a free room edesign from Kathy at Up to Date Interiors. I am going to show you the before and afters of the room next week but part of her suggestions was for us to move the tv to the opposite wall from where it was before the makeover and make a gallery wall around the TV.
If you have a gallery wall make sure to include the people you love the most and some of the things you love the most too. Remember you are going to be looking at this wall every day – it should make you smile every time you look at it!

Keep reading for the secret behind the items on this gallery wall ;-)
The first thing I did was choose the pictures I wanted to put on the wall. I wanted a great picture of the hubs and me, our parents, our kids, our dogs, and our closest friends. I enlarged our wedding picture and bought a great frame with a museum mat because I wanted that picture to stand out. So pick your focal point first and figure out how you want to build around it.

The wall actually took me a while to bring together because I new I wanted some different art mixed in with some pictures. And since the hubs and I are from different states, both of which we love, string art in the shape of North Carolina and Alabama seemed to fit the bill for the wall. Check out how I made those here. They are super easy to make!

You will also notice that the TV is not in the center of the wall which is tough for those of us with a tad of OCD! But the way we had to arrange the furniture put the TV off center on the wall. The gallery wall actually helps balance it out though.
This section of the wall features pictures of my son, Grant, and me as well as Chris and his son, Paul, and of course you know we love those two! The “Whatever is Lovely” print that I received during our NC Blogger Meetup and it just seems like a good way to think. Obviously Chris and I are both from the South and are proud of where we came from so one of the things I really love on this wall is my Hey Y’all hanging from Wayward Whimsy. You really need to check out Bethany’s work – I have ordered from her several times and have been extremely pleased with everything. My Hey Y’all is even on her Facebook cover photo!
