Lighting help

My daughters bathroom has 1 light source and 1 outlet inconveniently located behind a wall hiding the toilet area. The toilet area is dark on a sunny day, let alone at night when she's scared. Alternate light ideas??

  • How about finding a swag light or making a swag light? A chandelier would really "jazz" up her bathroom and give her lighting. I have turned light fixtures into chandeliers. I will take a pic of one of my basic ones I have not finished but use. You maybe could run a heavier duty extension cord along the trim and into the bathroom up the wall. Sorry for the bad pics but I hope this gives you an idea. To make a light a swag you can go purchase the cord with plug at any home store like Lowes or Home Depot. I did not like the chain so I just neatly used wire clips to hold it against the ceiling and wall. The cord is 18' long so you can go a long way.

For a quick fix, you could try some wireless motion sensing lights. You wouldn't need an outlet because they are mounted with adhesive and they only turn on when they are needed, so they are really low maintenance.
