A friend of mine had a 10ft Church pew sitting outside in the weather cause she said it was too large to put in her house...So I came up with this Idea of making a 2 for one deal and loads of storage to go with it.... You can read about the entire tutorial @ my Blog Page

Love these!! I don't understand your wet/heat method to straighten a warp-could you explain a little bit more?

Dee This method has always worked for me on wood that has warped over the years. I have read a lot of articles on how to straighten up a piece of wood that is warped out of shape and the majority say to wet the wood and as it is drying to gradually keep clamping the wood a little at a time.. You have to do it gradually or you may result in splitting the wood... This is what twelvepole wrote in this article in the doityourself forum http://www.doityourself.com/forum/furniture-... ...»
.... This method of wetting the wood and heating does work I have used it several times and have had great results... Hope this answers your question..:)

    ...and Thank You Cyndy B..:)

WOW Tania! Thanks for the info on straightening warped wood, it's really great! I had heard to use steam with I guess incorporates both heat and water...but not much more detail than that...LOL so I guess I'd have been steaming everything...while you're explanation of what and why makes the process so much clearer! Love the Benches incidentally, LOL

Great job reworking the pew. I really, really want one for my living room but have hesitated because they are so large but now I know that I can just re-size it (if I can find one) thanks!
