I'm impressed you found all those pieces at flea markets and thrift stores. You must be an eagle-eyed shopper.

I just bought a tea pot that is like yours on the right side of picture. It came with sugar and creamer. This would be a great way to use them. Got the set for $12. at Good Will. Thanks for sharing this! Funny, I also have that scale. Bought it as a newlywed with S&H Green Stamps!

Donna, wow S&H Green Stamps... That brings back memories! I remember going there with my grandmother when I was a child. I found my scale for $3 at a thrift store... It required a bit of cleaning, but now I love it!

I'm so glad I hung on to mine. There were times when I almost got rid of it. What's eye-opening is when I realized the things I had as a newlywed are now the things I see in antique shops! It sits proudly on top of my kitchen cabinets.

This is a great idea. I have a lot of silver from the family that gets unused and doesn't really have much resale value.

I was wondering what to do with all the silver that is in our cupboard, left us by our Mothers, thank you so much,

I use my tall coffee pot for a flower vase. It's heavy enough not to tip under the weight of big blossoms like rhododendrons.

Thank you for posting this. I have silver plated coffee pot, sugar bowl, etc. Do you think it would work just as well?

Terri, yes those should work well too. Another tip, my mom recently told me that in addition to the rocks, it is good to put a piece of plain charcoal in the bottom. I guess the charcoal works like a filter and keeps any bottom water clean, just like a refrigerator filter does (which also has charcoal in it). Blessings, Diana

Thanks for the tip about charcoal. I would never have thought of doing that.
