Who Else Fears Sewer and Water Line Breaks?

This is one of my worst fears. And unfortunately they have come true!!
But I was able to avoid paying for them and had a plumber at the house on the same day of the backup. I was happy that we purchased utility line insurance :)
You can get utility line insurance for $3-5/month per line. There are no deductibles or fees and you can actually talk to someone on the phone any day of the year. You can purchase this insurance through a company called Utility Service Partners (I'm not affiliated in any way but am a thankful customers)
My latest blog post discusses why it's a good idea to get this affordable insurance and how you can do it with a phone call and no inspections of your home. Click on the link for more details. http://www.homerepairtutor.com/escape-sewer-water-line-repairs-without-paying-a-penny/

Thanks Woodbridge for your comment. I understand your thinking. I our case the cost is half as much and the max I pay for our rentals is $16 a month for the sewer, water, gas, and in-home plumbing. The great thing is they will fix any problem and there is no deductible or fees. You just pay the monthly amount and the warranty does it's job.

Be weary of home maintenance / insurance plans... A couple of tips: Most of the home maintenance plans have a max they will pay, period... Leaving the consumer to foot the rest of the repair costs. Some programs only allow in-network repair companies... Most of which do not make enough money to ensure the job is completed with the upmost care. A lot of programs require 3 quotations for major work, the cheapest estimate gets the job. When choosing a company make sure: You get to choose the company that makes the repair or replacement. There are no hidden deductibles, fees or catches that will all-of-a-sudden leave you footing the bill. Do get 3 quotes, don't go with the cheapest, don't go with the most expensive (unless there is good reason), ensure all are quoting apples to apples, and make sure the company that you choose is insured, licensed and bonded in the trade in which they specialize. Also, a good plumbing company works with local lenders to be able to offer their customers financing when they need it.
