Rustic, rusty, repurposed. Should I retire my vintage wagon?

Question

Below you can see what I used my red wagon for this summer. Now it's time to make a decision. Do I retire it until the Spring or, do I add mums, pumpkins, etc. Suggestions for the fall anyone?

My wagon is out almost all year -March -Dec 1st or so.
I agree with R.Adam. You need to seal the bottom if you are going to keep using it as a planter-i learned the hard way with my vintage wagon. I used rubberized undercoating to seal it. and I use pots instead of planting in the wagon. have fun and decorate for fall!

@Trash Find Redesigned i leave mine out year round i painted the inside to protect it, most of the time it hold patriotic things but fall pumpkins and Christmas stuff for it at the proper time bought mine at a thrift store for five bucks tires were almost rotted off it was so pitiful i had to bring it home xx

I have one that I sanded an repainted the inside of, to inhibit more rust. Once it had to be dumped of a few rainfalls, the rust took over again, so I've got it inside right now. I'm wondering about Red Wagon Glass Topped Coffee Table?!?? Will update.

I saved my son's size 2T jeans & flannel shirt (he's now grown with family of his own); stuff them with newspapers to make scarecrow that sits in his little red wagon with mums & pumpkins & small hay bale. Every year, unstuff, wash clothes, store till next year! If you didn't save your child's or grand's clothes, try thrift stores. The more faded/ragged, better. I pinned shirt to pants & tied with rope belt. Face/head is gord. With Old straw hat. Once used foam circle covered with pantyhose for head/face. We look forward to seeing him created year after year - more than 30 years now!😊

I drove by a house this spring where there was a rusty red wheelbarrow that even had holes from the rest already in the bottom.. My husband thought I was crazy when I made him turn the car around and put it in the back! I haven't done a thing with mine for fall because it's behind some tall perennials but now I'm inspired.. gonna have to put some pinecones in it or something! :)

We get hail here. Big hail. I use mine to hold transplants for the garden in spring - and I can run it right into the garage when the storms build up. Wonderful too for harvest decor and winter with greens and pinecones.

You could make a fairy garden with miniatures and succulents that do well even in winter in a carport or garage, then put in the shade the rest of the year. Requires little water.

I did this too a long time ago but I found the plants didn't grow so well because it can't hold enough soil. When I first did it I put a layer of small pebbles for drainage. Then a few years later I drilled a few holes in it & tried that. Now I have an oval pot in the middle & left the dirt around it. The animals keep pulling out anything I tried planting around it. So frustrating.

I love it, I have one too I bring my inside and at Christmas I fill it with my kids toys from years ago. Vintage toys.. Looks adorable.

I leave mine on the front porch all year long. It sits beside the front door, under an overhang. In the fall I use Pumpkins, real and artificial, fall flowers and anything rustic. During December I put my now adult boys old Christmas bears in it and for Easter their old Easter Bunnies sit in it with some plastic eggs.

I'd keep it out all year and change it for each season. Mums for the fall and packages and greenery for Christmas. Use your imagination for each season. It's just too cute to put away. I've been looking for one to use in my yard for a long time.
