Rusty Tool Arbor

This rusty tool arbor was built using salt treated lumber and an assortment of old tools picked up cheaply at resale shops and garage sales. See more of my garden projects at http://ourfairfieldhomeandgarden.com

I love it. Could you tell me more about salt treated lumber? I have never heard that term before.

Glad you like my arbor, Lori! Salt treated lumber is wood that is treated to withstand the outdoors, readily available at Lowe's, Home Depot, or any other lumber supplier. It is used to make decks, porches, etc. Hope that helps!

Barb, what a unique and awesome looking arbor. I love it!

Yep, around here it's either green treated or brown treated, but I rarely see the brown treated anymore. It looks so much nicer too.

My folks used to have friends in Wilmington. They moved back to my home town some time ago though. I'm at a lose trying to think of their names now. I can picture their faces.

For the NY culture salt and green treated lumber is called pressure treated lumber. Funny the name is different depending on what part of the country we live at. I have to say your arbor is very creative and awesome way to recycle.

This is certainly creative! But I don't have any old garden tools that I don't use.
