OLD Blue Dresser Makeover!

I had a Blue Dresser that I had sitting in my basement for ever that kept screaming out TV Stand... TV Stand...But every time I went to the Basement I looked at it and kept saying to myself SELF... Today is the Day... Well by the time I finally decided to do something with it, It had so much piled on top of it that it took me the whole Day to dig it out... well I was bound and determined and I finally got it up the stairs and out side..and here is what I did with that OLD Blue Dresser

Tania, this piece is fantastic! The bins you made look sort of like crates and just absolutely perfect the look of this tv stand. I love it.

Thank you Shabby:) I just find it easier to make my own bins they are so easy to do.. I usually make them out of Luan for the base and any kind of left over scrap wood That I can find Lying around the garage for the sides and front.. I just think that some of them are way to expensive to buy in the stores so I make my own..:) .Here's a pic...;)
    • I used 1/4" luan for the base some scrap 3/4"plywood for the sides and I ripped a 2x6 12inches long into 1/2" thick strips for the front and back....

Tania, you are so wonderful. I don't think I even thanked you for doing that for me. I read your instructions and knew I needed to wait until my brain was more rested before trying that. I will email you this evening. Thank you so very truly specially much!

Hi, I thought I posted earlier, but don't see my comment. I love this project and wondered what stain you used for the natural wood? I would like to re-do a piece of furniture in this style and love the way you did this.

    Thanks!

Thanks for posting. Need to replace a dresser in the kitchen, and this would be perfect. Went thrift store hopping today and found a dresser with four drawers. Will keep the top two and create the shelf on the bottom two. I can't wait to see the results. Could I ask what type of paint you used?

Gail I used a Semi gloss Black That I had mixed at our Local Hardware Store here in town...I primed it firs with white primer that I had them add a little black to it ... I found that when you tint the primer when using Darker colors you don't have to put on a lot of coats of paint to cover the white primer...:).. Good Luck Can't wait to see your handy work..:)

Thanks Tania, have posted, hope you don't mind I did mention you as my inspiration :) Just for info, I purchased a satin finish paint/primer in one for furniture. Used the foam roller for paint and verathane - loved how smooth it went on.
