Love the black and white and very clever to paint the tiles. What a difference! Did you do a marble design on the sides? It looks like it in the pictures.
Extremely Creative....Gardening might be one thing...but refurbishing has always been an interest but just simply never had the eye. Very happy to be on a web site like people like you can share such great ideas!
Thanks Liz,Tania and Lulu after I stripped the table the idea came to me because the bottom of legs were uneven, then when I trimmed them down I thought was perfect for sitting on the floor. Thats when it hit to do the checkered board table.@Lulu it is sticky tiles :). I have been trying to sell my creations but not very sure how to go about it lol.
Craigslist. Advertise with pictures under their furniture by owner. Since most are looking for great deals you may not get as much as you would if you rented a booth at a craft or "antique" mall, but you won't have the overhead of rent due either.

I've used CL quite often. Only once have I allowed anyone inside our home to view anything. We were selling our sectional sofa and the whole family came to see it. I arranged a time when I knew my hubby would home with me. We actually sat and talked as if we were old friends.
Other than that, I've always kept the items for sale in my garage or on our screened in porch. For the most part folks that use CL are just like you and me, kind and caring individuals that like

shopping used.
You'll get a sixth sense about most even before you meet them via their emails or phone conversations. If you feel spooked, move on to the next person in line wanting for your goods. No sale is worth risking your safety for.
Becky is right.....I've always been weary to sell on craigs list but after posting an ad in the furniture section for my antique rocking chair that needed to be refinished (Wish I knew about this web site prior) otherwise I would have kept it, within a month, the rocking chair was sold. I did the same exact thing as Becky. I made sure that my husband was home the time of pick up. If uncomfortable about meeting @ your house, you can tell the person to meet you somewhere locally, and just

makes sure you go accompined. I also sell misc. items on ebay.....Ebay no longer charges you listing fee's if you put an item up and you can list your item for LOCAL pick up only. So unless you sell it, which ebay only takes 9%, if you do. If not sold, than ebay charges you nothing. If buying a booth at your local craft fairs, look into the middle school & high school's in your area, they usually host craft fairs or garage sale fairs for less than $20 a table and/or space! Obviously from your feedback, I have a feeling your furniture would be guaranteed sellers! :)
Liz, I didn't know that about local pick up and ebay. I'm going to look into that. That sounds like it would bring in a higher paying clientele. With the time and effort I (and I'm sure Linda) put into a piece that's something special. Thanks!
A friend of mine calls me the most cautious person she knows. I too am skittish of meeting strangers. Being elderly sort of makes you a target even if you have a man around. I have no idea how to handle these swaps. I am not willing to take risks for a few bucks.
I had to laugh when I re-read my post! CL was not a part of my upbringing so it is foreign to me. Millions and millions of people use this service every day and are OK. You just have to be cautious even when crossing the street!
