DIY Beach Block Art ~ Reuse End Pieces of Your Boards

Becky W
by Becky W
I always keep the end pieces of boards, the last inch or two gets thrown into a pile. I finally found a way to use them and the piece fits beautifully in our beach, cottage bedroom
Final piece ~ also check out how I used one my natural stains for the frame. A few ingredients, apple cider vinegar, steel wool and tea, you're ready to go!
Here are all the end pieces lined up, ready to be painted. I painted them in a variety of creams, blues and greens.
Randomly I started attaching the boards using E6000 epoxy

I love that look. I think it would look great without the heavy frame around it too. Have you thought about making a bigger version of it and hanging it unframed? I think it would look terrific and could compliment this piece.

@Becky W I just did a search on Better Homes and Gardens and could not find it. Basically it is constructed the same as you did yours but on a huge scale - enough to be a feature in the garden and block out the nosy neighbours at the same time. It looked fabulous. They showed two versions, one was stained in different colour wood stains for a natural look, the other was painted in different colours. Basically do whatever decor style you love best and that fits with your garden style.
