You may have seen the pictures of onion art on Facebook today. I shared said pictures, and now there's a lively discussion about the name(s) of the berries and/or shrub. There is some consensus that the berries are from a different plant than the one shown.

The berries look like Allophylous psilospermus

Almost none of the berries occur on the branches where they would naturally, so I do not think there is any reason to believe they came from the same source.
