Taking an Antique, Metal Swivel Chair Apart

It's complicated, yet easy.
This is the front off the chair. The cushions look like a deflated bunt cake.
This the rear view. Notice the different aged finish on the metal frame.
This is the underside of the seat and swival base.
Here you see the un-assembled cushion. Foam rubber dry and disintegrating. Corduroy cover still interacted with covered button and nut, washer, nut and deco bolt. Seat cover on the lower right is simply stapled to the wooden base and gathered around another covered button.
Covered button assembly.
Underside of the seat is bolted by 4 bolts to the swivel base.
Before button nut and bolt are removed.
After - see hold degraded and discolored the foam rubber is due to age.
Disassembled chair frame.
I used steel wool. You can see the difference in finishes on the top and swivel base. I suspect age and nicotine caused the discoloration. Unfortuntely, some of the finish appears to be nickel plated and gold color plated. I can't wait to show you what I do to it next.
