    Well, when I made mine I began with a huge broken pot and built it up to a point where I could add some large pieces of bark off of slices from a downed tree. I used those to brace it so that I could add more soil. I continued up to a higher point and added another larger piece of bark and continued to add more soil. They I added the smaller pots always leaving a space around each addition to be able to plant in. ...»

    Some folks are finding it better to put a dowel or rod of some sort down the middle to keep things in alignment but I prefer to let things move the way they want to.
