why is the dryer being vented out in between the dry walls and studs ... no direct pipe it literally bounces off the studs in the wall there is a small hole at the bottom at one and hole at the top of another then hopefully finds its way to the vent from outside wall to the top of the opening of that top of the studs

  • I am not sure what you are saying- do you mean to say that your dryer vent is just being blown into your walls? If that is the case then you need to stop using the dryer and put in vent pipe and make sure the dryer vents properly! This is dangerous and build up of lint can cause fires if the dryer cannot push the lint out. Plus dryers venting like that can cause dust and other allergens to be released in your home. The shorter the vent the better the dryer is. Good luck. and if you go to your local home store they can help you too.

Because somebody messed up. Yes, don't use it again until it is properly vented via vent duct through the wall to the outside. Not only fires, but also a serious moisture problem!

Shoddy work is the only answer. Google how to vent a dryer to the outside. if you are not handy, call in a professional. This is a fire hazard big time! Moisture inviting mold growth! Get this done now. It may cost some money, but it will cost a lot more in the long run if you don't do it!

This is a dangerous situation. Call in a pro to get the warm, humid air vented to outside.
