Dark gorgeous kitchen

I shot this kitchen today- done by an old friend. I love the contrast and the workmanship was outstanding! More of his work can be found here: http://itsazimmer.com/

Does anyone know how to affix these knives to tile without breaking it?

I would guess there is a tile drill bit... however, that is a TOTAL guess!

That is simply breath taking. The combination of styles is all pulled together using the two main colors to make a very inviting and warm area.

@takeshapeforlife I don't think so- they were some sort of wood.

@Cheryl, I think there are some good cement glues out there also to affix the knife magnet to the tiles, these can be found at Lowes or some other DIY hardware store?

You know that is just stunning! I don't know if I would drill into those tiles to mount the knife magnet....I honestly think I'd use double stick tape simply because If they decide to move it Ever , for any reason the tape can be removed without permanent damage to the tiles...That's just me....The tape is certainly strong enough to hold that magnet even under daily use...

This is just so beautiful! I would LOVE to have a kitchen this size to work in! However, I definately would not drill into the tile to mount that knife magnet...I'd simply use the double stick tape from the hardware store...I mean if they EVER decide they want it move even the slightest they've damaged the tile...and double stick tape can be fully removed....plus as long as you wipe the tile with some rubbing alcohol first you'll get good adhestion and it will hold up even until daily ...»
repeated use, for darn near forever...LOL But that's just me...

looks like the knife rack was probably mounted w/ blind screws that fall in the grout joint-there are tile bits (they have a sharp point and arrow head). Good looking kitchen

Your kitchen is beautiful. Could you share the flooring details? I'm looking at all the possibilities now for flooring a den and kitchen.

Marcia, this isn't my kitchen but the kitchen of a friend who is a contractor and did all the work himself.

I planned where the knife rack was going to be before drywall and added backers to support it.
