The kitchen could use some white stripes or a lighter & flatter color on the wall. It would look more soothing if you broke up all the shiney green. The shiney walls really need something different even if it is the same shade but using a flat paint. Kudos to the owners for being so bold to try something different.
Years ago I used Hunters green and white as my color scheme almost everywhere in the house. I still have some bits and pieces of it that are part of the decor. The range hood in the kitchen is still Hunters green and that's okay because its the only thing in that room that isn't white or natural. I also have not removed the striped (Hunter & white) wall paper from the half bathroom. But it is so well hung and looks great with the victorian pedastal sink. Besides I haven't found a wall

paper that I like as well. The one paper I did find to replace it cost $180.00 per roll, and I didn't like it that much. So for now it's not getting replaced. I don't think I could live with a bright green very long. It's sort of like yellow in my book of what not to use in decorating. The kitchen in your
showcased home could certainly use some white to break up the monotony of the color. It would be much more pleasing to the eye.
HUNTER GREEN IS A MUCH DIFFERENT STORY--CLASSY! REALLY WENT WELL FOR OUTDOOR TRIM, DOORS, ETC. I CAN JUST SEE YOUR BATHROOM, SUZANNE--AS I SAID, CLASSY!
Bonnie, funny you said blue because while they say it is great for a bedroom, they say that blue is a bad color for kitchen or dining room! This brings up the question....who the heck is "they"! I agree with the posts...the green kitchen is too harsh! Preparing meal after meal, after meal, after meal, after meal....well you get the idea...would be made even more tedious in this kitchen! UGH! This is so bad it would scare the eggs to scramble themselves! Let's hope this is not the

now "in" look that is going to be pushed at us in every TV show and every magazine as was "faux painting" and the likes!
LOL! I SERIOUSLY DOUBT THAT WILL EVER HAPPEN! EVERYONE IS DOING ''WHITE'' & HOW I DREAD HAVING TO MOVE TO AN APT. AGAIN! THE LAST ONE WAS PAINTED GLARING WHITE! YOU'D THINK THEY COULD AT LEAST FIND A SOFT WHITE! TALK ABOUT RELAXING--SHEESH! YEARS AGO, IT WAS ALWAYS BEIGE, WHICH BECAUSE OF THAT, I HATE TO THIS DAY! MY BEDROM NOW IS A SOFT BLUE-GREEN (more blue) WHICH MAKES ME THINK OF WATER & I FIND IT SO RESTFUL. LOVE IT!
Well, I love green all right. But this, in my humble opinion, is just too much. This color would look good as window trim on the outside of a nice bright yellow house, and maybe on some lawn furniture, or a bed quilt. Or even a backyard children's playhouse. But this is too much of this shade of green inside the house. Too overwhelming. Maybe if it were a different green, a pale green, or even a sage green. While this IS a lovely bright shade of green, I feel that this is the wrong use for

it. My favorite color for a kitchen is light yellow. That nice pale shade of yellow that looks like lemon pudding (not that lemon curd or lemon cheese for meringue pies, but pale, creamy, lemon pudding.) I guess pale yellow was a popular color for kitchens in those old, turn-of-the century homes, and that is the color yellow I like for a kitchen. And light blue in a bedroom. But some of today's bright, glowing, neon colors make me nauseous. Ewww!
ok, it's a bit much for me but I'm also noticing that it's not a newly painted kitchen is it? There is wear around the knobs. Why did you post this picture?
@Laurie K....I'm with you on the pale yellow color. I refer to it as "butter" yellow & my walls in my home are painted that color & as for blue in the bedroom....YES! I have light blue & cream in mine & everytime I walk in there I feel relaxed.
LAURIE--AMEN! I AGREE TO ALL YOU WROTE! I WAS NEVER A YELLOW PERSON, BUT AS I'VE AGED, I'VE NOW COME TO LOVE A PALE YELLOW! STARTED BY HAVING SOME IN BATHROOM AS ACCENTS-----NOW PLANNING TO PAINT THE WALLS & CEILING---NOT MUCH WALL AS THE ROOM IS SO SMALL! I HAVE AN AWESOME BLUE GREEN, MEDIUM SHADE IN MY BEROOM & I LOVE IT! THE FURNITURE & DRAPES ARE A ''SOFT'' WHITE. VERY RELAXING.
hmmm, I get it now. This is a picture from HOUSE BEAUTIFUL magazine. I think he just posted this to show different greens in different rooms and get our feedback on the green in the kitchen in the magazine.
Oh my, if it's in HOUSE BEAUTIFUL I really hope it's not the new trend!

Loved them all. the little girl curtains are a wee bit like my bedroom blue--but it is a very unusual blue/green soft & oh so relaxing--like a lake somewhere!
