Recently I attended an Earth Oven , also call Cob Oven, building class taught by one of the world best teachers in this field, Kiko Denzer. This is such a rewarding project, I made a free ebook with lots more details ( otherwise this post will be 30 pages long!) you can download from link at the end!

Look at this wood-fired oven pizza! Our friend Bill has been using the oven (from last year's class) almost once a week for a year now. He makes pizzas, breads, casseroles and even dried fruits, yum!

The first step is to dance in the mud and create the earth mix.

Next, like how you would build a sand castle, pack some wet sand into a dome shape and cover with wet newspaper. The dome is built on a foundation base made of wood, fire bricks, and filled with vermiculite which provides insulation.

Make a wood oven door to go over the fire brick hearth. Shape the opening so the door fits snugly.

Kiko and his books see the end of the article!).

The final step is to add some of your own creative designs and light the first fire.

If you love the earth oven, you would also love these 12 amazing living structures: functional or artistic creations made of living plants! Check out these DIY living stuctures here!

What about a small cabana/hut made with thin poles(like they use for thatching)

Seat at the back, open front with a shelf for a table top in front, thatch roof.

I saw similar in Bahrain at one of the yacht hotels on the beach front.

Hope you have some suggestions, its for next to a pool. Love the shower ideas.
