Galvanized tub water garden

by Barb Rosen
I used a galvanized wash tub to make a water garden! Just set the potted water plants in the water, anchor them with stones, and fill in with floating water plants. Remember to put in a mosquito dunk every month or so during warm weather! See more at http://ourfairfieldhomeandgarden.com or http://pinterest.com/barbrosen/

These plants came inside, tub and all into our sun room for the winter, Beckie. Since they were in pots set into the water, they could also be kept separately in small trays with water (similar to houseplants) if you don't have that kind of space. Or, consider them annuals, and restock the next year.

See more about water garden containers at : http://ourfairfieldhomeandgarden.com/diy-create-your-own-water-garden-in-a-container/

This planter had a dwarf Papyrus, water clover, a colocasia and a water lily. Check with your local nurseries that carry water plants for lots of good combinations for your location, Beckie! Thanks for commenting!
