How do you replace cottage cheese/popcorn ceiling?

Here's a video that shows how to remove it with water and a scraper. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wa2gmxAA9ZE What type of finish are you wanting it to be? If it's a smooth finish, you may have to tape off, mud and sand smooth before you can prime and paint.
