Dragonfly

I just love dragonflies in my garden and there seems to be an abundance of them this year! They are such good little hunters and I enjoy how they seem to guard their little territories.

Just the other day I saw a lot of dragonflies and was reminded of how cool they are.

We spent some time down at our pond yesterday and there were dozens of smaller sky blue ones and they had green eyes. I watched them for quite a while as they fought over territory. Amazing insects.

Aren't dragonflies just "THE" coolest things?? We watched them one night out on our deck. There must have been an abundance of mosquitoes or something over head because it was an absolute flight zone. We tried following them w/our cameras but it was impossible to keep up they were flying so fast. We finally just aimed and waited for them to fly in front of the lens instead. That's a great shot you got!!

Hey Julee what an awesome pic you got with your little friend there... I absolutely love Dragonflies wish I could get a pic like the one you took... We went camping at Dolan Lake,IL not long ago and was fishing on the dock when a couple of little friends decided to pop in and check out what was going on... One of them wasn't so lucky =( ...got too close to the water and became fish lunch but I did happen to catch a shot of his mate... Not as good as your picture but can you spot him LOL!... They are so cute!

Dragonflies are like natures version of the Apache Military Helicopters...speed and hover capability....plus they are some serious predators. Damsel flies are there pretty cousins.

Hey Tina, you were lucky to get the pics you did! They are so darn fast that it's hard to even get a good look at them! This little guy was sitting on a stick and I moved really slow and it didn't seem to mind so I snapped away.

LOL! don't want to discriminate against cause I don't know how to tell if it was a boy or girl LOL!=) Just Glad I got the pics I did...I absolutely love Yours♥
