My Teensy Little Front Porch...

My dog Ryley and I are loving our favorite spot in the cottage this summer. The color scheme was pulled together with inspiration from the fabric in the pillow. I found cushions to coordinate at Pier1, spray painted the wicker, added a few accessories that were already in my stash. A few prints and a mirror give it the homey feel of a real extension of the house. Stop by, and enjoy a cold beer with me.

It looks like walking in there could be a challenge with Ryley using up most of the floor. but I guess if you bring out a couple of beers then there is not much need to walk back and forth.

the colors a re very soothing... it must be nice to kick back there after a long day working.

That may be a small porch, but it is huge with personality! Very good job!

Kathleen this is so pretty & inviting!! I do have one little question though - please tell me the fern is somehow anchored on top the that tall post/pole??? I love your use of traditional indoor decor being applied to your outdoor room!!

    Thanks for the complements!

KMS: Ryley is quite a big puppy, but she'll just lie there if you have to climb over her :)

I used some heavy wire to attach the old column to the walls securely on both walls, and the heavy pot is just sitting up there. Since it's out of the way in the corner, I feel confident that it's safe.

What a lovely cozy porch you have Kathleen.

I can just see myself sitting on your settee with my feet up on the railing and reading a good book.

Thanks! Becky, you have outed my favorite position. I also love to sit here with a few friends... there is a seating capacity of five intimate buddies and one large dog!

Sweet porch! Cozy and inviting. Yes, I could lounge on your settee with a cold beer as long as I could pet and talk to Ryley.
