Ikea Hack - Creating a Vintage Stool

We have super high cabinets in our kitchen and I really needed some help reaching them. My 5 year old also love to help cook so I thought I’d pick up this beauty while were shopping at Ikea.
The Ikea Bevkam stool is a great (and sturdy) little stool with a vintage shape. At only $14.99 it was a bargain and a blank slate to create a vintage (and waterproof look).
You'll need the natural beech style. I used Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint to create this vintage look. For the first stool, I used Ironstone under Eulalie's Sky. This is the one that is in our kitchen but it would also look gorgeous in a beachy bedroom.
The other stool was finished in Luckett's Green over Grain Sack and give a more country look.
I distressed them both and applied Tung Oil mixed with solvent (also by MMS Milk Paint) to create a waterproof finish. You know how things can get wet and splashed on in the kitchen.
Such a simple and affordable Ikea Hack! It is making a huge difference in our daily lives. Full tutorial on my blog. Hack
