A Total Storage Cabinet Transformation

A while back, we were gifted a pair of cabinets that served as part of our entertainment center. Once we moved into our current house, I decided to squish them together and repurpose them as storage in our foyer. Unfortunately, their appearance no longer suited our tastes. So, I decided to completely revamp them into something much more "us". Here's a sneak peak...
... Aren't those handles the cat's meow?? I love them to no end. Anyhoo, prior to their makeover, the cabinets looked a little something like this...
I'd painted them that rust color and added the rice paper glass film several years ago. They were the first pieces of furniture I'd ever painted and it showed. Big time. So, I sanded them down to a nice smooth finish...
...applied a shellac primer, followed by three thin and even coats of white paint....
Then, after reattaching the doors, I backed the glass with some bold, graphic fabric....
...and added that dreamy hardware. And here's where we ended up...
These cabinets turned out better than I'd imagined. They really served to brighten up the foyer and add a touch of style that was definitely lacking before. For the complete, detailed description of how this transformation came to be, check out my blog post! :)

P.S. Price for this makeover varies according to the paint/hardware used.
