Guest Room Makeover

This room's planning went so many different directions, I was so happy to finally pick a scheme and get it done!! I must say, the theme of my house is very safe, but this room was out of the box for me. Bold colors, patterns, it took a minute for me to tell myself I really liked it!
Here is the guest room before. While I love yellow, it was the builder's flat paint that didnt do this space any favors
This room was the dumping ground for anything that we didnt want out in the living room.
It was always a mess and NO ONE lived in there. I mean, seriously?! I planned to have an accent wall and started browsing the internet for inspiration. I found the perfect inspiration (listed below) for the accent wall. I was sadly disappointed when I found out I couldnt get my hands on the wallpaper. I saw the perfect alternative, a stencil. Cutting Edge Stencil had a stencil that almost matched my inspiration perfectly! (Tamara Trellis Stencil)
I painted the three walls in basic white paint/primer and the accent wall started with Behr Restless Sea.
Then I started stenciling the room in the same white as the walls. It was really easy in the beginning, but I will be honest, it started getting frustrating towards the end. The stencil did not bend like the pictures showed, so corners and base boards were a bit of a pain.
it took me about 2.5 days to finish this wall and I really do love the results. Everyone that sees the wall is always in shock that came from a stencil
There are still a few things I need to add to the space: plants, pillow cases, and to cover that black chair in the corner (or replace it)
I have more pictures and a source list on my blog:
