Very nice tutorial Maria. You're drawings and written instructions should make it easy for even a novice to make their own lined window panels. How long have you been sewing?

Thank You Becky, My mom and grandmother taught me to sew when I was young, but I didn't keep up with it for years. Now I like to sew when things for around the house when I can't find exactly what I want.

Just read your tutorial. Very good and easy to follow. I'm happy to hear some young people out there sew. I too learned as a little kid from my mom, 4-H and then in high school. It's a very valuable skill that saves tons of money when furnishing a home and getting just what you want ;-) I sew for my decorating clients too when I can't find what I'm looking for or if I really need something custom.

I was taught by my Mom when I was a little girl too. My first sewing machine was pink and plastic. I wish I still had it. I've been sewing for the home since I was a teen and made my own curtains and bedspreads. I have rarely found WTs (window treatments) or bed covers that I liked enough to buy so I just started making my own.

Thank you both, I'm certainly happy I learned to sew when I was younger. I think too many people are afraid of sewing. It's not as difficult as it seems. Curtains are a great beginner project too as it's all straight stitching along the seams and if all else fails it's easy enough to pull out the stitch and try again. Anyone can learn anything with a little patience and practice.
